CVE-2024-56219
The Widget Options plugin for WordPress contains a flaw in the widgetopts_save_widget_editor_cache() function that fails to properly verify user permissions, allowing contributors and higher-level authenticated users to save caches without authorization. This vulnerability affects versions 4.0.6.1 and earlier. The missing capability check enables attackers with contributor access or greater to perform unauthorized cache operations.
