CVE-2024-3026

The MaxButtons plugin for WordPress versions up to 9.7.7 contains a stored cross-site scripting vulnerability in the Custom Rel Tag parameter. Authenticated users with Editor privileges or higher can inject malicious scripts through this parameter due to inadequate sanitization and escaping of user input. The vulnerability only manifests in multisite WordPress setups or environments where the unfiltered_html capability has been restricted, allowing attackers to embed persistent scripts that execute when other users view the affected pages.
