The TranslatePress plugin versions before 2.0.9 contain inadequate sanitization of translated text that enables authenticated users to inject malicious code. While the 'trp_sanitize_string' function attempts to block script tags through pattern matching, it fails to prevent other HTML elements and their attributes from executing JavaScript payloads. This vulnerability allows attackers with appropriate access to store persistent cross-site scripting attacks within the plugin's data.
