CVE-2020-27615

The Loginizer plugin versions before 1.6.4 contain an unauthenticated SQL injection flaw in the brute force protection feature, which is enabled by default upon installation. When users enter login attempts with non-existent usernames, the plugin fails to sanitize the username and other parameters before inserting them into database queries, allowing attackers to inject arbitrary SQL code. The update addressing this vulnerability also strengthened input validation to mitigate potential cross-site scripting attacks. WordPress enforced an automatic update that successfully patched approximately 89% of affected installations.
