The Ultimate Member WordPress plugin before version 2.0.4 contains a directory traversal vulnerability in its shortcodes function that allows attackers to access files outside of the intended directory structure. This flaw, tracked as CVE-2018-0586, exists alongside several other security issues in the same plugin including cross-site scripting, arbitrary file uploads, additional directory traversal in AJAX functions, and multiple access restriction bypasses. The vulnerability was reported by Gen Sato of Mitsui Bussan Secure Directions, Inc. and coordinated through JPCERT/CC.
